lm - luftmaske
stgm - stangmaske
fm - fastmaske
km - kædemaske
snmo - spring næste maske over
lm-buen - luftmaskebuen
m - maske
Materialer:
Bomuldsgarn
Hæklenål str. 2,5 - 3
2. omg: 3 stgm, 1 lm, snmo, 1 stgm i lm-buen, 1 lm, snmo, 3 stgm, 2 lm, vend.
3. omg: 2 stgm, (1 lm, snmo, 1 stgm i lm-buen)x2, 1 lm, snmo, 2 stgm, 2 lm, vend.
4. omg: 1 stgm, (1 lm, snmo, 1 stgm i lm-buen)x3, 1 lm, snmo, 1 stgm, 2 lm, vend.
5. omg: Samme som 3. omg.
6. omg: Samme som 2. omg.
Gentag 1.
English pattern
Required techniques and
abbreviations:
ch – chain
dc – double crochet
sc – single crochet
ss – slip stitch
sns – skip next stitch
chain space – the ”hole” or
space in previous from skipping a stitch with a chain
s - stitch
Materials:
Cotton yarn
Hook size C (US)/12 - 11 (UK)
(Not sure about these, since we use the metric system for crochet hooks in
Denmark. I have these from an online conversion chart. Try them out before you
proceed with the pattern)
Remarks:
I use the US crochet terms, so for example when I tell you to do a double crochet, that means a treble crochet in UK terms. If you're confused there are plenty of diagrams online that will help you "translate" the recipe.
For this particular pattern I
have used a brand of cotton yarn from the Danish store ”Søstrene Grene”, which
I do not believe is available in any other countries. However, the brand is not
important as long as you use cotton yarn that matches your chosen hook size. I
can’t recall which size hook I used for this, but since my crocheting is
somewhat tight I think I may have opted for the larger size. Gauge is not
important here, so I leave it up to you to try out the project and decide for
yourself if you want to go with a smaller or larger hook size. The project in
itself is quite small, so not much time is wasted if you do decide to start
over with a different size =)
Please note: Every first double
crochet in the row is made in the same stitch as the turning chain, meaning the
two chains made at the end of each row before turning. For the same reason, the
turning chain is not counted as a
stitch.
I would like to credit Tichtach,
who has made the pattern for the famous harlequin towels, which is where I
borrowed the idea of making the same sort of hole pattern.
This pattern is for private use
only and may not be sold by anyone but me. Additionally I would appreciate it
if you did not mass produce these bookmarks from my pattern to sell for your
profit. It is of course perfectly fine if you want to crochet some for your
friends and family, and if you post images of your finished creation online
somewhere I would very much appreciate it if you provided a link back to this
site.
Pattern:
Foundation row: Ch 11.
1st row: 1 dc in third ch from hook, 3 dc, ch 1, sns, 4 dc,
ch 2, turn. There are now nine stitches in the row, as there should be in each
row from now on until the end of the project.
2nd row: 3 dc, ch 1, sns, 1 dc in ch 1 space (from previous
row), ch 1, sns, 3 dc, ch 2, turn.
3rd row: 2 dc, (ch 1, sns, 1 dc in ch 1 space)x2, ch 1, sns,
2 dc, ch 2, turn.
4th row: 1 dc, (ch 1, sns, 1 dc in ch 1 space)x3, ch 1, sns,
1 dc, ch 2, turn.
5th row: Repeat row 3
6th row: Repeat row 2.
Repeat rows 1 – 6 three times (until you have 4 harlequin
squares) and end with an extra row 1.
Do not bind off
yet! Instead, continue working sc’s as an even border around the project. Join
with a ss in first sc and bind off. Weave in ends.
I hope you find this pattern useful. I personally think it’s
really cosy and Jane Austeny to have crochet bookmarks, but I am an English major, so I may just be
weird like that. If you’re not Danish you will probably have a hard time guessing
which book I'm reading in the photo, but if you are really nerdy or well-read or a literature
expert then do guess away ;) Don’t feel bad if you have no clue, I think it’s
pretty difficult even for Danish people to guess this one.
Thank you so much for reading!
